Ok, I know a few of you probably think I’m obsessing over this. (Well, maybe just a bit)…. but since we’ve all have a tendency to forget “tagging” additional categories (happens to me too), I’ve simplified the process for registered members.

So now, all you would need to do is select your name in the category bar (see pic below). Staffers however, uh — still need to select “Staff” and their name. Yeah, life’s not fair. :)

p.s. Found out how the “Image Editor” works. It’s a great tool for those of you that want to include pictures with your articles, but lack a personal host for your images. Best of all, GotPress WordPress will create thumbnails for any pics you upload. Sweet ain’t it? Ok, I’ll quit gushing now. ._.

All I’m going to say on the subject is that I’m disappointed.

Updated with new impression 5.27.06:

Just came from seeing X-men: The Last Stand and — wow, I didn’t expect some of the things that happened in the movie. Initially, I had my doubts that the movie would suck. Far from it. The tone is dark, much more than both of the previous two films combined. Moviegoers overall will appreciate that it’s loaded with action. A few funny bits. (”Do you know who I am? I’m the Juggernaut, bitch!”) As for the comic book enthusiasts, well — spoiler alert: click to highlight: Some of you MAY not be too thrilled with what I’m about to reveal. I didn’t appreciate that they killed off several “key” characters. The scene leading up to Xavier’s death came as a total shock… it was such a moving scene. At first, they gave you the impression that there was hope when he was struggling to contain Jean’s dual personality. Only she was too strong for even him to handle. (His last words: “Don’t let it control you…”) And then… it happened. He fucking got disintegrated. Fuck. What a way to die. I was like literally thinking in my head… WTF? NOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Edit: It turns out that he’s actually still “alive” in a way that I can’t quite explain because my comic book geekdom isn’t what it used to be… I’ll have to research. But still, they didn’t have to spend the time killing him. Does this mean he comes back even more powerful like Jean had evolved to? Hmmm…

But I digress, before that, Scott Summers (Cyclops) got killed off too (by Jean Grey). This guy barely had NO screen time in the flick. He just whines about the loss of Jean, then gets a psychic “call” from Jean (as Phoenix)… they meet, get lovey-dovey, and then the ball drops. Peace out Scott. Lots of death in this flick, mostly no-name mutants… thankfully they Wolvie held it down (and if you’ve been reading the latest buzz at FilmForceIGN, you’ll understand why). And then finally, there’s another death I didn’t see coming, but you’ll have to see the film to find that one out for yourself. Uh, yeah. CRAZY flick…. I haven’t made up my mind if I was more impressed or disappointed. One thing is for sure… some heroes aren’t coming back.

This will likely be a similar reaction from fans after seeing the flick

My fiance laughs that I’m taking this so seriously. I dunno, I always loved those characters and now, they’re gone… never to be seen again in any future X-men films. It’s been ages since I followed the comics, but I can’t imagine too many fans being impressed with the direction they took. I’d love to hear feedback from those of you who’ve already seen it. FilmforceIGN sums expressed my overall thoughts quite nicely:

“While X-Men: The Last Stand was largely fun and engaging, it never quite came together as a satisfying whole. Like the trilogy itself, the film got more right than it did wrong but grew overwrought and overstuffed, managing to both thrill and vex this X-Men fan.”

So for those of you that seen it: what you like and dislike? (Yeah Tasha, Candice…I’m looking at you). Sorry that this post doesn’t have my usual structure — today was a LONG day at work and catching a Friday flick was a great way to unwind and welcome the weekend… (sup Memorial Day). Things I liked:

Kesley Grammar as the Beast: Man, I know he’s a good actor and all — but wow, he really surprised me. Fit the role very well and this may create a boost for his Hollywood credits and possibly lead to even more cooler roles. (It’s been awhile since I’ve seen him in any flicks)

Less cheesy Storm dialogue: I am SO happy they didn’t go with those corny-esque Storm vs. Toad lines. I mean — the writers came up with some cringeworthy stuff in the past. It’s sad to see so many ppl hating on Halle, she’s a good actress and think people really understate her abilities and write her off as nothing but a pretty face.

Action… present, (but wanted more fan service): Compared to the previous two films, there was a lot more “wow” bits — though scattered. Some bits seemed a bit rushed. I was disappointed there wasn’t a battle scene between Colossus and Juggernaut and Multiple Man’s talents were wasted here… he should have got more screen time than to be used as a decoy during a pivotal point in the film. Ah well.

A glimpse of the future: The Sentinels make an appearance in the film — but not quite in the way you expect. Still…could this be a hint of what we’ll see in a future flick. (Yes, they’ll be at least another)

So Chris tells me about this doo-hicky and…

Well, if I can do LJ, 1up, MySpace….

One more can’t hurt.

PS - Videogames rock harder when you’re sick. You know it and I’m living it ._.

Allow me to continue the series of rants recently posted here. This one in regards to the people who have no problem with sex, drugs, and violence in movies and television but completely object to it in video games. It’s safe to assume these people are in no way hardcore gamers and are therefore uneducated on the topic to begin with.

The only difference between the two mediums are that video games are interactive. Because of that simple fact people have made numerous claims about how they promote violence amongst the youth. It seems that since the invention of pong juveniles have been sprouting up like hot-cakes. Never mind Miami Vice. No, pong is the devil. I remember watching this Looney Tunes episode as a kid where this bandit walks up to a civilian and shoots him point blank in the forehead. This was a cartoon made in the sixties and now people want their reparations for violence spanning back entire generations. I’m sorry but kids have been exposed to violence long before the PS2 came around. Because of the PS2 I’m free to act out some of my wildest fantasies. No, I’m not refering to Hot Coffee. I’m talking about while I’m bludgeoning a pedestrian’s head in with a baseball bat on the streets of Liberty City and pretending it’s my boss. I can’t name one film I could watch that would give me the same satisfaction. If not for the invention of video games I might have watched that happen on tv and said “Hey! That seems like a really good idea!”. That would’ve been the end of ClownLotion as we know it. My ability to determine what’s real or not isn’t in question here. The point is video games can be a great stress reliever and keep me people from killing their bosses.

Why is it that selling a M Rated game to a minor will get you hanged? I could sell The Terminator to a kid and get slapped on the wrist for it. How much do you want to bet I’d be in front of a firing squad the moment I try to sell that same kid a copy of GTA. The punishment should be the same across the board. The law is playing favorites. That’s like saying it’s alright for me to sell cigarettes to your kid, but not liquor because liquor gets your kid drunk and makes them do stupid things. I guess rotting your kid’s lungs and giving them cancer isn’t a big deal. That’ll be $3.50.
