Travis tells me it’s a homebrew doujin game, but shoot — that’s gotta be one of the coolest homebrew looking fighters I’ve come across in a LONG time. Sup MUGEN!

According to GameSetWatch, it is. Never heard of PartnerNet? Curious how some pro outlets (and other accepted gaming destinations)… you’ll want to read this.
Nice little article that anyone who cares about new games hitting XBLA should read.
Naturally, any of you that care to comment — I’d love to hear your thoughts.

…I still can’t get on the damn site! Ah well, I already own Contra anyways and the T-shirt would be really cheesy. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not hating on the Xbox Rewards program. In fact, I wish that it emerged much sooner… but right now, the prizes just aren’t enough to make me lose any sleep.
…..but I STILL wish I could successfully register! *shakes fist*

Man, I can’t remember the last time I had the weekend off from work. To tell you the truth it feels… strange. Already a third of the day as I’ve been sleeping until just a few minutes ago. I’ve been really tired folks. Ever since the holidays, the usual grind has seen a slight change instead of parking my rear end at my home office, it’s parked in front of TV playing games. And it may come as no surprise, but the gaming sessions have been exclusively on 360.
For two weeks, it was all about Gears of War — which by now so many of you have recognized is one of the best titles on the console hands down. In the beginning, I was getting my ass handed to me during multiplayer sessions. For some reason, I couldn’t take people down with the shotgun to save my life; which of course, let to tragic reward of losing my own. Fast forward to the present and these days I can tall with confidence and hold my own. My most memorable highlight happened during an multiplayer session in “Execution”. First team to five wins the set. The first three matches were a blur, but the outcome was the same: my team was losing!!! It wasn’t difficult to figure why we were getting stomped… we lacked a successful strategy and above all, no one was communicating. That’s when I decided it was time to take charge.

Getting achievements and boosting your Gamerscore are finally about to pay off! The achievement system is inarguably one of the coolest innovations featured in a video game console. Although there are a few out there who consider it to be pointless. They chalk players simply hooked on it for e-penis bragging rights. Others wish that it played a bigger significance towards unlocking new content within the game itself. Or even better, to have the opportunity to redeem their points for unique prizes.
Well, those criticisms haven’t gone in vain. Microsoft has team up with Old Spice to introduce a new Xbox 360 event called the Old Spice Experience Challenge. Gamers will be charged with increasing their gamerscore by 1,500 between February 12 and April 12, 2007. In other words, you’ve got 2 months to get your high score up to 1,500 in order to earn a bounty of rewards (yay, I just boosted mine just the other day).
In order to participate, you must have a valid Windows Live ID with your Xbox Live, a linked gamercard, be a legal resident of the United States or District of Columbia (additional challenges will be announced for the rest of the world soon), and at least thirteen years-old. What Can I Win?
Reward Package Qualifications
* Level 1 (Gamers who have an annual gamerscore between 0-4,999 at time of entry): Game Picture, Dashboard theme, Contra for Xbox LIVE Arcade
* Level 2 (5,000-9,999 annual gamerscore): Level 1 Package, 100 Microsoft Points and a contest T-shirt
* Level 3 (10,000+ annual gamerscore): Level 1 Package, 200 Microsoft Points, contest T-shirt and Fusion Frenzy 2
Old Spice is also planning to give Leve 1 and Level 2 “the gift of experience” by upgrade the Rewards Level later this year. (Hopefully they’ll start giving away DVD players or something… or a lifetime supply of Old Spice?)
Be sure to log on to www.xbox.com/rewards on February 12 to sign up for participation. Reward quantities are limited so gamers who reach the set goal will be awarded on a first come, first served basis only.
