Uh… Gamers, we have a problem.

In case some of you have been wondering why a certain section of the front page seems, well… out of date - we recently experienced a recent data that affected our valued features section. The end result was nearly a year's worth of data which we are currently working on trying to retrieve. The retrieval process isn't going too well at the moment, so you can imagine that we're not all smiles here at GotNext. Though all is not lost - our administration team is working in a contingency plan. But most importantly, we have some very cool new features in the works (some of which have already put into action such as the index sorting tools). Some features you will probably not see until sometime next year. There's also another BIG change underway and if all goes well, you should be seeing it launch well before the 4th Qtr.

"Hello, Computer…"

Don't fret everyone — we'll make it right, one way or another, we'll work on restoring as much content as possible (all the really significant content anyways like interviews and such). On behalf of the entire crew, we appreciate your patience and understanding during this unfortunate setback. Stay tuned!

Dead or Alive sticks everywhere rejoice, you're still the only option for Xbox 360 owners.

It looks like those wishing to profit from their Dead or Alive sticks will have another month until any competition arrives. The Hori-produced limited edition Virtua Fighter 5 stick has been delayed until early September. The stick cannot be pre-ordered from EB/Gamestop stores (according to 2 stores that I called), so you have to order it online.

With the Capcom remakes, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, as well as Virtua Fighter 5 and LIVE games such as Streets of Rage 2 (Yay!) on the way, let's hope the date won't slip any further. A lot of us prefer to use arcade sticks for much more than just fighting games, especially considering how horrible the 360 d-pad is.

It’s been a long time coming, but Xbox LIVE for the Xbox 360 is about to get the ultimate multiplayer game: Bomberman Live. Yie Ar Kung Fu rounds out the double whammy set for this Wednesday, July 18.

As an all-new entry in Hudson’s long running series, Bomberman Live gets the hi-def treatment and features 4-player local and 8-player online battles. A new addition to the classic grid-based game of bomb first, ask questions later: players can customize their bomber with thousands of options.

With 8 locations and 16 pick-up options (Jelly bombs? Detonators? Can’t wait to see what classics will show up and if there’s anything new in store!), it will be hard to find a better way to kill time on any console.

Not content to let the little bomber get all the glory, Konami offers its classic fighter Yie Ar Kung Fu. With a premise right out of a Chang Cheh kung fu classic, it's hero Oolong versus masters of the chain, bo, and more. The original arcade version is available as well as an enhanced version with hand-painted models and new backgrounds.

Otaku USA

It’s not everyday that we would devote a post for blatant plugging, but in this case, an exception has to be made. By now, most anime enthusiasts are well aware that Otaku USA recently hit newstands. It’s the first first true cross-media hybrid publication which made its debut earlier this month on June 6, 2007.

Inside, you’ll find the mag is loaded with tons of coverage including a spread on Gunpla, anime releases, a look at some cool toys in Japan, and more. The gaming section was primarily covered by our very own Joseph and *surprise* yours truly. Compared to Joseph, he delivered a LOT more content — which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that knows him; he’s is a TRUE otaku!!! ;)

So far, the first issue has received plenty of positive feedback and some valued suggestions to help shape the success of the mag. A letters section is said to be in the works, but for the time being, you can add your two cents by registering at the official community forums.

Oh, and most importantly — please show your support by heading down to your local bookstore (Barnes & Nobles, Borders, etc.)
