Co-op, Evolved! |
Halo fans recently had a bit of wind taken out of their sails when Bungie intimated in an EGM cover story that online co-op play could possibly end up on the cutting room floor due to technical issues.
It had been widely believed (though never confirmed by Bungie) that the game would support 4 players online, so the news that even 2-player co-op wouldn't be there was a major disappointment, especially after online co-op had also been removed from Halo 2 at the last minute.
Well, fret no more, for Bungie has blown the wind right back into those sails and have set fans back on course from the harsh land of Bitteropolis to the sunny shores of the Elation Isles with the news that Halo 3 will in fact support 4 player co-op over Xbox Live.
Bungie, you had best not be messing with us, for the citizens of Bitteropolis are a frightful sort who won't hesitate to bandy about terms like "boycott" and "cancel my pre-order". (But just between you and me, I don't think they'd actually go through with it!)
Update: Bungie has the official details up on their site.
