400,000 units at launch is nothing - that we know. If, as Sony has indicated, there is a continual, predictable stream of replacements through the holidays, is this a big deal?
I will get a PS3 as soon as I can walk into a store and then purchase one. But when will that be?
And does it matter? Does this announcement, combined with the millions of 360s already in homes of gamers and a cheap, totally crazy Wii doom the PS3? Does Blu-Ray doom it even if those other factors don’t come into play?
Here’s my guess - PS3 will ultimately be the best selling console of the three, but it will take until 2009 for that to happen.
And I ain’t no Sony fanboy - I just think the name and brand is still strong.
Although - could the PSP be a harbinger of a bigger failure with the PS3?
So many questions!!!!
