There’s a question I’ve been meaning to ask for a while to determine whether or not my gaming habits are a bit odd. Does anyone constantly play their DS with the sound off like me? So long as I’ve owned mine I’ve played it this way. Not with the GBA or even the SP. Just the DS for some reason. Get back at me people.

My girl is forever turning the sound down on things: laptop. the tv. and yes — that even includes the DS. I dunno why she does it.
As for me, I live for sound, it’s what makes me feel connected. Immersed. And it’s one of the reason why we have ears.
…as for you, yeah - you’re wierd, but not because you turn your sound down. Ok, maybe a bit. :p

I am also guilty of this. Never, ever use sound. Actually, I am terrible when it comes to game music, period. I usually turn music off if I can and play CDs while I work through a game (sometimes I leave sound effects on though). Like right now I am playing DQVIII and I keep the sound off for most of the regular game, but I make sure to turn it on for the dialogue cause it cracks me up.
My wife turns off the PSP music most of the time and has always turned it off on the GBA, mostly because we watch TV or listen to music while playing handhelds. I feel bad for game music composers, I don’t think their music is appreciated enough.
