At last week’s Game Developers’ Conference, one of the earlier presentations was from Jeff Minter. It was a one hour talk about the history of Llamasoft, the art of games creation, and Space Giraffe. Now it’s up on Google video, available in full for anyone who wants to see.
If you’ve got the spare time and interest, check it out here. In addition to being an enjoyably candid talk, it also shows how low-key and informal these presentations can be.

That ruled. It’s great to see that Space Giraffe has its own gameplay ideas and identity despite the obvious Tempest routes. I Think there are some good ideas going on there.

I was shocked you weren’t there with either GN or HardcoreGamer.
I would’ve liked to see ya!

I’m sure James would have attended if he had the funds and time; there’s always next year!

Whoops, didn’t notice this had gotten more comments. Anyway-
Yeah, much as I’d have loved to go, it’s a conference for game developers and I’m a guy who works retail. Covering it would have been fun, but travel expenses combined with bills and actually getting in all conspired against me.
